Jacksonville Crossover (from 2023)

Game Rules

All players must be registered here before playing.  For Championship Weekend, to be eligible, each player must have played in at least three (3) games.  Injuries and other circumstances will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

RULES:

Open Division:

  • 20 minute running quarters. 5 minute halftime. One ref keeps penalty time one ref keeps game time. 
  • Penalties are running time, time and half
  • 5 long poles allowed
  • 3 timeouts per half, anywhere on field 
  • 3 faceoff violations is a time-serving technical
  • Over and back is enforced
  • Last 2 min of game are stop time if game is a 5 goal margin or less
  • Last 2 min of game the team who is leading has 30 seconds to get it in and keep it in once possession is gained.  There is no count to midfield. It can be 28 seconds on defense then wing it to the offensive box.
  • Dive allowed, player cannot propel themselves toward the mouth of the goal. Ball has to cross the goal-line prior to player landing in crease.
  • Faceoff Mechanics – players may use any grip (not touching the plastic) and can take a knee down, otherwise following the current NCAA/FHSAA rules regarding releasing the ball.
  • NCAA, NJCAA, MCLA Players (defined as enrolled in school and playing during our season from January - March) are not allowed to play in the FLL/
  • High School players are strictly prohibited from playing.

Masters Division:

  • 15 minute running quarters. 5 minute halftime.
  • 4 long poles allowed
  • 3 timeouts per half, anywhere on field
  • All other rules are the same as Open division, with the exception we don’t allow takeout checks.  We interpret this as enforcing the defenseless player rule.  You can still slide body to dislodge the ball but you just can't blast guys who aren't looking.
  • Goalie 30 year old allowance – needs to be cleared before game with league executive board
  • Master’s Eligibility is defined as players who turn 35 on or before Championship Weekend.
